Pizza. Sauerkraut?

My favorite food in the whole wide world is pizza. I can eat pizza anytime. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, elevenses, whatever.

Now since I don't eat meat, I'm getting about 1/2 the fat as people who order pizza with meat AND cheese so I don't consider that unhealthy. I'm very against feeling 'guilty' over food. Food should never invoke guilt. But I try to be reasonable. Ahem.

But I'm constantly poked fun at because I'm used to SAUERKRAUT pizza. Yeah...it must be a small Midwestern thing. But you should see the looks I get over this...SAUERKRAUT AND PIZZA ARE DELICIOUS together. DELICIOUS.

I adore Breadeaux Pizza... http://www.breadeauxpizza.com/ And they have sauerkraut on their main menu and they are located in non-yokel places as, uh, Maryland? And what is British Columbia considered?

So. Canadians can get the Sauerkraut love but not someone in Chicago? Well boo.

Frat Wanna-be's

Unfortunately I was forced to walk behind two douchebags this afternoon...believe me, I had no choice because of 'sidewalk construction.'

Fatteee was telling Americanized-Harry-Potter-Style-Nerd where all the 'hawt women' hang out and if he didn't know that then he just as well be out of here.

Mind you, Fatteee probably has the definition of hawt women as the orange-skinned variety with buttercup-highlighted hair. They tend to come in groups.

And Fatteee and Americanized-Harry-Potter wouldn't stand a chance with those type of ladies unless they discover the next Facebook. But I have a feeling they don't see that as their fate.

So I hope they have a good time hanging out with the hawtness...

The Mighty Boosh...and I'm Back Motherlicka's!

The Mighty Boosh is quite possible the bestest, most wonderfulest show I've ever, ever, ever had the pleasure of viewing.

My hero of the moment is Old Gregg. This is Old Gregg. http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/mightyboosh/

So. What are still here for? I'm trying to send you away to check out the Boosh!

Old Men & Coffee

So I was in Ye Olde Local Corporate Coffee Shop bright and early this AM as I was blessed with a Gift Card the day before.

Two old men were out and about having their coffee...leaning back in the chair talking, yet facing and watching the crowd. You've seen these old guys who like to go out and hang at the coffee store.

As I was awaiting my drink, I heard one starting to sing along with "Singing in the Rain" (and on key, mind you!). They then started to talk - outwardly as they weren't afraid of sharing - about gigs they used to do and this rolled out of the old David Gilmour-esqe dude: He started telling about how a woman paid his way to Africa because she wanted 'a horny young dude' back in the day. He did look rather happy. I smiled. I think he was amused someone actually overheard.

He did say he saw her again, eventually. And a nice woman, at that.

Watching TV Shows on DVD

So I'm rewatching (is that a word?) Season 1 of Supernatural on DVD. I think this whole TV show on DVD is quite a spiffy thing and there are loads I'd love to own (Charmed! Gilmore Girls! Three's Company! Smallville!)...but buying season after season adds up.

The good thing here is I'm able to keep up with Supernatural since I got in on it at the beginning.

Back to my point. I'm actually enjoying the rewatching thing because you start to notice things you didn't before because you get so wound up the first time...at least I do...and am kinda just wound up in what's going on.

Now I can notice more of the overarching plot and try to figure out what is going on (see my other post on the Gateway to Hell).

I watched "HOME" and couldn't believe I didn't notice they gave out a full 866 number...hi, I'd have called. I guess I missed something there? I'm glad I never watched Lost. I'd never pick up on important things - or just concentrate on finding that important thing and miss the show. Whatever.

Anyway. Let's just say I'm quite pleased with my fave TV programs on DVD.

Guitar Hero Made Me Queasy.

Guitar Hero Tripping:
The distortion of ones vision due to watching the constant scrolling of the guitar hero screen for an extended period of time. Object generally appear to be stretching upward or swirling in a circular pattern."

I thought it was just me - or the game was telling me something (quit being lazy and do something productive...or we'll screw you up). But nah, it happens. Rather annoying, though)

Supernatural - The Smart Folks Lost

I'm hooked on Supernatural - have been since the pilot aired. Now that I'm actually reading more online and rewatching the first season, I've come to the realization that there is a lot going on. It's not just one urban legend or ghost story to the next each week.

The main writer, Erik Kripke, said he knows how it ends (so it looks like we won't get another X-Files situation - whew) but it's about 5-6 seasons. Does anyone remember when my beloved Dark Angel was abruptly canceled after two seasons with no resolution? Yeah, please don't let that happen again.

Anyway. I always assumed the main characters (bros Sam & Dean Winchester) were from Lawrence, Kansas because it's just about exactly the middle of the country and they are supposed to be good ol' boy type characters. I never thought to Google Urban Legends from that area...but when Kripke hinted to do this, I did.

Lawrence is right by Stull Cememtery...it's off Interstate 70 between Lawrence and Topeka (gosh, and to think of all the times my family and I went by there. Never felt anything weird.) So...it's rumored to be one of the 7 Gateways to Hell, if one believes such things. I guess there are supposed to be seven of them. The tie-in to the show is pretty darn cool, though, because the beasties and Winchesters had to get bound together at some point. We'll see if that ties in with the show later on.

And they were mentioning Sacramento. I can't find anything about Sacramento and urban legends. I did see Sacramento was the Gateway to the gold rush back in the day, but that's not much help.

So I'm very interested to see how Supernatural plays out - what the big two part season-finale brings, and that it's renewed for at least one more year. Hopefully two!

TV Addict?

I used to be such a TV fiend. I think it has always been there, but was dormant for a few years, especially when I was busy in college.

Now, I'm afraid, it's back. I'm trying to keep my regularly viewed shows at a minimum, and TiVO (the best invention ever) has made me less a slave to the tube than in the past.

But. I catch myself searching to see if my fave shows have been renewed and await the final word in May. It's worse than finals.
